BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
Since the Town of Cutler Bay's (the "Town") incorporation, our Local Police Patrol Services have been contracted with the Miami-Dade County Police Department (the "MDPD"). The Town first contracted with the MDPD in 2006 at which time, the Town Council adopted Resolution No. 06-68. Subsequently in 2010 and 2014, the Town Council adopted Resolution No. 10-18 and Resolution No. 15-13, renewing each of the Local Police Patrol Services Interlocal Agreements (the "Agreement") for a five (5) year term.
This year, Town staff has made a collaborative effort in positioning the negotiations with MDPD staff. In working with the managers from Town of Miami Lakes and the Village of Palmetto Bay, whom also contract their Local Police Patrol Services with MDPD, the Town has streamlined the final Agreement to include/enhance current services provided. In addition, both the Financial Director and I participated in all the MDPD negotiation sessions/meetings, in order to address any contractual concerns. In efforts to summarize some of the major "highlights" of the proposed Agreement, Town staff has created an Executive Summary for your review (Attachment "A").
