A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CUTLER BAY, FLORIDA, CERTIFYING AND DECLARING THE OFFICIAL RESULTS OF THE TOWN'S NOVEMBER 3, 2020, GENERAL ELECTION AND DECEMBER 1, 2020, RUNOFF ELECTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
The Town of Cutler Bay (the "Town") Council adopted Ordinance 19-17 on November 20, 2019, to establish the qualifying period for the November 3, 2020, Town general election (the "General Election"). The Ordinance set July 27, 2020, through August 7, 2020, as the qualifying period for the General Election and, if necessary, a runoff election was scheduled for December 1, 2020 (the "Runoff Election").
At the end of the qualifying period, there were three (3) candidates for the Office of Vice Mayor and four (4) candidates for the Office of Council Member Seat 2.
The General Election was held on November 3, 2020. The official election results have been certified by Miami-Dade County Elections and attached to the Resolution as "Exhibit A".
As a result of the November 3, 2020, General Election there was no one candidate who garnered more than fifty (50) percent of the vote for Town Council Seat 2. Therefore, the Runoff Election was held on December 1, 2020. The official Runoff Election results have been certified by Miami-Dade County Elections and attached to the Resolution as "Exhibit "B".
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Town Council certify and declare the official results of the General Election and Runoff Election of the Town.
