BACKGROUND

On July 17, 2013, the Town of Cutler Bay ("Town") entered into an agreement with the Miami Foundation to establish the "Cutler Bay Community Fund." This donor advised fund allows the Town to support non-profit organizations that serve Cutler Bay residents. The mission of the Cutler Bay Community Fund "is to support nonprofit organizations that endeavor to improve the life of residents in the Town through educational, aesthetic (community beautification), environmental, cultural, social services and other philanthropic programs and services." As of June 30, 2020, the Cutler Bay Community Fund has accumulated a total of $43,821.20 (Attachment "A").

The Town accepts grant applications throughout the year and reviews the applications quarterly. For the funding cycle that ended June 2020, the Town received a total of three (3) funding requests. A review panel consisting of three (3) Town employees reviewed the funding requests and found that all of the projects were aligned with the Cutler Bay Community Fund's strategic plan primarily under the "Education" and "Social Services" categories.
