BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
Miami-Dade County (the "County") is constructing roadway improvements along S.W. 211 Street from S.W. 112 Avenue (Allapattah Road) to S.W. 108 Court, located within the limits of the Town of Cutler Bay (the "Town"). The County's roadway improvements include the milling and resurfacing of the existing pavement, the construction of the bike lanes with green colored pavement, and the construction of the concrete curb separators (Attachment "A").
The Town will be responsible for the installation of the landscaping comprised of shrubs and Bahia sod inside the concrete curb separators. The Town and the County will mutually provide assurances for the future continued maintenance, repair and replacement of the elements constructed in this project. The cost of landscaping shall not to exceed $25,000.00.
Pursuant to the competitive selection process utilized by the Town, staff is in the process of obtaining three (3) quotes for recommendation of the "lowest responsive and responsible" bidder.
The County is requesting for the Town to maintain the new landscape installed inside the concrete curb separators. As part of the Covenant for Maintenance Agreement, the Town agrees to maintain the obligations stated in the Maintenance Memorandum Agreement (Attachment "B").
