Cutler Ridge Park Lighting Enhancement Project
REQUEST
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CUTLER BAY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF AN INVITATION TO BID (ITB) FOR THE CUTLER RIDGE PARK LIGHTING ENHANCEMENT PROJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
In October 2018, the Town of Cutler Bay (the "Town") entered into a subrecipient agreement with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for the Cutler Ridge Park Lighting Enhancement Project (Town Resolution #18-67). The Town has been awarded $86,000 to improve the energy efficiency of the athletic field lights at Cutler Ridge Park. This project is included in the Town's FY 2018-2019 Operating Budget and consists of replacing 28 outdated 1,500-watt bulbs with 24 energy efficient 1,150-watt LED Bulbs. Replacing the existing athletic field lighting with new LED lights, there will be a reduction in energy use that would reduce the Town's electricity costs. These lights will also reduce light pollution currently generated by the old lighting format.
The Cutler Ridge Park Lighting Enhancement Project is funded in part through a subrecipient grant awarded by the United States Department of Energy through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. As such, the Town and any subcontractor(s) shall be subject to each provision of this agreement and applicable federal, state or county guidelines and regulations. For this reason, the Town wishes to issue a formal Invitation to Bid for the purpose of identifying a "responsive and responsible" bidder to complete the lighting project.
RECOMMENDATION
