Project Title: Cutler Bay Street Tree Reforestation Project

Amount Awarded: $14,500.00
Match Required: $14,500.00 ($13,500 cash/$1,000 in-kind)

Neat Streets Miami is a Miami-Dade County board dedicated to the maintenance and beautification of transportation gateways, corridors and connections. The board's Million Trees Miami campaign has a goal of 1 million trees planted by 2020 and a 30 percent tree canopy throughout Miami-Dade County. In order to reach this goal, Street Trees Matching Grant program, funded by Miami-Dade County, engages municipalities, non-profits and community organizations in planting native or Florida-friendly trees on Miami-Dade's corridors and gateways. Grants of $5,000 to $25,000 will be awarded to those communities who can demonstrate the greatest benefits for residents, employers and visitors and are able to provide a stewardship plan for our joint investment.

On January 31, 2018, the Town submitted a grant application requesting funding on behalf of the Public Works Department. Neat Streets Miami has awarded the Town a $14,500 matching grant ("Grant") to plant approximately thirty-seven (37) Live Oak Trees on the swale and public right-of-way of various local and/or county roads throughout the Town.
