BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
On October 17, 2012, the Town Council adopted Resolution 12-59 approving an Interlocal Agreement between the Town of Cutler Bay (“Town”) and Miami-Dade County (“County”) to streamline the permitting process for filming production companies interested in filming within the boundaries of the Town.
The Agreement authorizes the County, through its Film Office, to issue permits to film and still photography production companies allowing them to utilize Town facilities and services as authorized by the Town. This service provides the Town with a process to streamline the film permitting process. The Town grants authorization to the County, through its Film Office, to issue permits for a period of five (5) years, commencing ten (10) days from the date of approval of this agreement by both parties. The five (5) year term has expired and the Interlocal Agreement needs to be renewed in order for the County to continue processing film permits for the Town.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Town Council approve the attached Resolution approving an Interlocal Agreement between the Town and Miami-Dade County.
