Re: Requesting the Co-designation of SW 212 Street to Tiger Shark Way
REQUESTTitle
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CUTLER BAY, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE CODESIGNATION OF THAT PORTION OF SW 212 STREET, BETWEEN S.W. 85 AVENUE AND S.W. 87 AVENUE, AS TIGER SHARK WAY; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR THE TOWN MANAGER AND/OR DELEGATE TO ADVOCATE FOR SAME; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

During the October 28, 2015 Youth Council Committee meeting, the Cutler Bay Senior High School Student Government Association requested the renaming of SW 212 Street (from SW 85 Avenue to SW 87 Avenue) to Tiger Shark Way. The Youth Council unanimously approved the request and recommended that the Town Council consider the approval of renaming portions of SW 212 Street, located directly in front of Cutler Bay Senior High School. The renaming of the street will create a sense of community and school pride amongst the students and future alumni of Cutler Bay Senior High School.

In order to rename this roadway section, the Town Council will need to co-designate the identified municipal roadway section along SW 212 Street.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Town Council adopted the attached Resolution, co-designating SW 212 Street (from SW 85 Avenue to SW 87 Avenue), a...
