A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CUTLER BAY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXPEND FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $27,275 FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT AS PER THE EXECUTED INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MIAMI DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND THE TOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BACKGROUND

 

On April 24, 2016, the Town of Cutler Bay passed and adopted Resolution 12-21 formalizing an Interlocal Agreement between the Town and Miami-Dade Public Schools.  This Interlocal Agreement established Cutler Bay High School, including an iPREP Academy, and guidelines for programmatic sustainability.   Pursuant to Section 4.B.1 (Page 4) of our Interlocal Agreement, the school Board may submit an annual request for “needed updating and replacement of equipment at the iPREP, up to $150,000 per year”. 

 

On March 17, 2016, the Town received a request from Miami-Dade Public Schools in the amount of $27,275 for the purchase of 25 MacBook Air Tablets in accordance with the adopted Interlocal Agreement (Attachment “A”).  These tablets will be provided to incoming 9th grade iPREP students for the 2016-17 School Year along with the best quote that the school system received for the purchase of the tablets

 

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

We recommend that the attached Resolution be adopted, authorizing the Town Manger to expend funds in the amount of $ 27,275 payable to Miami-Dade Public School for the  for the purchase of 25 MacBook Air Tablets.
