A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CUTLER BAY, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE FEASIBILITY AND ADVISABILITY OF PROVIDING LOCATIONS, SUCH AS MIAMI-DADE POLICE STATIONS OR OTHER LOCATIONS THAT WOULD DETER CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, TO SERVE AS SAFE HAVENS IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY FOR ANYONE SEEKING TO COMPLETE A CRAIGSLIST TRANSACTION OR SIMILAR TRANSACTION RELATED TO A CLASSIFIED ADVERTISEMENT WEBSITE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
I urge my fellow Council Members to pass this Resolution in support of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally A. Heyman (sponsor) in examining the feasibility and advisability of providing Safe Havens in at least four (4) Miami-Dade County Police Stations for internet sales transactions related to classified advertisements websites in an effort to make our local community safer as it relates to these types of transactions.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Town Council adopt the attached Resolution in support of the feasibility and advisability of providing safe havens for the completion of sales transactions relating to a classified advertisement website.
