BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
The City of Homestead requested federal funding to develop and establish a new Veteran’s Affairs Medical Clinic within the City of Homestead community to serve active duty, reserve and retired military personnel, including veterans and eligible families residing in South Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.
On March 16, 2016, the City of Homestead unanimously passed a resolution, requesting that the South Florida Congressional Delegation, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and Governor Rick Scott fully support the funding and establishment of the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Clinic within the City of Homestead.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Town Council support the City of Homestead’s Resolution No. R2016-03-14, and encourage other municipalities to do the same.
