Project Title: Cutler Bay radKIDS Project

The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program (42 U.S.C. 3751(a)) is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to State and Local jurisdictions. The JAG Program provides states and units of local governments with critical funding necessary to support a range of program areas including law enforcement, prosecution and court programs, prevention and education programs, corrections and community corrections, drug treatment and enforcement, crime victim and witness initiatives, and planning, evaluation, and technology improvement programs.

On August 1, 2018, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement notified the Town that JAG funding in the amount of $10,000 was allocated to the Town of Cutler Bay (Attachment A). On November 19, 2018, the Town submitted the required grant application requesting funding on behalf of the Cutler Bay Policing Unit to implement the radKIDS Program.

radKIDS is the national leader in children's safety education, and offers an empowering skill-based curriculum that will teach children to protect themselves. Activities funded through this project include;
