BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
On April 19, 2016, the Miami-Dade County Board of Commissioners passed unanimously a Resolution (R-325-16), urging the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and South Florida Water Management District to expedite Phase II of the Biscayne Bay Coastal Wetlands Project. In addition, the Resolution encourages taking all necessary action to complete Phase I of the Biscayne Bay Coastal Wetlands Project.
Seeing as this resolution would have a direct and positive impact on our Town and surrounding communities, I believe it would be appropriate for the Town Council to express our support for this measure.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Town Council support the Miami-Dade County Commission Resolution number R-325-16, and encourage other municipalities to do the same.
